Tropical Storm Lee Advisory Update #2:
Xavier University continues to monitor the situation
9/2/2011
Please be advised that Tropical Storm Lee continues to move towards the Louisiana coast and is expected to make landfall late Saturday or early Sunday. The National Weather Service is reporting that Tropical Storm Lee will most probably remain a tropical storm.
The greatest impact for this storm remains heavy rainfall and possible flooding. There is no threat to the city’s levee system. Xavier University is closely monitoring the storm and has made preparations to ensure that students housed in our residence halls have adequate supervision and all necessary supplies. Dining services are also available for our on-campus students.
At this time, the storm system poses no threat to the university. We will continue to monitor the weather conditions and will issue appropriate updates as conditions change.
Please continue to visit the Xavier University website (www.xula.edu) for official updates and notices as they relate to the status of the university. You can also call the university’s 24 hour emergency information hotline for weather related updates (1-866-520-9852).
